Tokyo Station Character Street photos

After I had finished exploring the Imperial Palace east gardens, I headed back to the Tokyo Station to visit a place I recently got interested in and wanted to see alot. That place is called Tokyo Character Street, and it is an underground shopping arcade within the Tokyo Station featuring shops devoted just to character goods!

I heard about this shopping arcade on Shibuya246's awesome website while researching some new ideas for Tokyo tourist spots. There are many shops within Tokyo Station, but this arcade is specially because each shop is devoted to different characters and sells many cute items. How could I resist a place like that? haha.

Character Street entrance sign

Making a day of the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station is a good idea since they are so near each other, once you enter the Tokyo Station you need to follow the signs and maps to reach the Yaesu Central exit. The Character street is located near there. It was a bit confusing for me to finding the right way, but there are lots of signs and people to ask and its not as confusing as Shinjuku station haha!

While I was there they had a special Kapibara san store that was quite popular, it seemed they had a puri kura machine that was drawing a large crowd. I love that character but I wasn't ready to spend any money until I had seen every store haha. There are 15 stores including TV station's shops, Lego, Snoopy, and Sanrio etc. There are cute items for both girls and guys of all ages^^

The Jump Shop

Of course I was not so interested in the TV station shops, they had merchandise from popular shows and network mascots, but I don't know much about those things haha. The Shonan Jump shop had a big One Piece display and had a lot of young ladies hanging around haha.

The Rascal shop is not so popular, why?? It's so cute!

My favorite shop was the Rascal shop, he is a really cute raccoon character from an old anime, and I just can't help but think his face is adorable. They had a lot of cute plush toys, but I didn't buy any to try and save money. But when I look back on these photos I really regret that decision!! I am going to get a Rascal plushie on my next trip for sure^^

I want all of these!

Well here are the rest of the photos I took in the Tokyo Character Street. Do you see any of your favorite characters? hehe.

Giant kapibara playing in the snow^^

This is Charro an English teaching dog on TV haha

Lots of Gachapin and Mukku goods

The official Rilakkuma store is also located in the Tokyo Station, but it's not technically part of the Character Street. It's around the corner and down a different hallway, there are maps and guides so you shouldn't get lost. The Rilakkuma shop is cool enough to get it's own post, please look forward to that!
