Day 3 coordinate and Tralala gets

Yesterday was a very beautiful day again weather wise, and I was able to attend the tsutsuji matsuri in Nezu Shrine. It was a great event, and it must not be well known because I only saw less than 10 non-Japanese there. Well I will write about that later, I got some great photos! And then I went to Tokyo University and got interviewed haha^^

Anyhow, this post is about what I wore yesterday, I didn't need a jacket at all even into the even time I was not too cold. I decided to finally wear my awesome "ugly" W*C hat, and I think the outfit looks quite cute.

Day 3 coordinate

Close up

Plaid shirt: Forever21
Skirt: Old Navy
Tank top: no brand
Shoes: Ninewest
Hat: W*C
Bag: Betsey Johnson

But now I realize that I totally forgot to accesorize! Oops, I am still new to dressing well, so it will take some time before I remember everything. But I like this outfit very much and will be repeating it for sure later in the month, then I will remember some bracelets and necklace haha!

I will also regale you with this photo of my makeup, because it was the first time I used false eyelashes! I don't think it looks too strange/unnatural, but I did have to re-do them once. Luckily I have some experience putting eyelashes on my ABJD haha! I am also wearing the Dollywink lip conclear, which is SO awesome. I can't praise it enough^^

Day 3 makeup, with false eyelashes! I finally look as pretty as I feel haha

Also yesterday my order from Tralala arrived, it was so exciting to receive clothing in the mail while in Japan^^ The post man even called 10 minutes ahead to let me know he was coming. Wow, what service! Unlike the times in US when the postman doesn't even bother to deliver packages and just leaves a note telling you to come get it ><;;

As a re-cap, I had ordered a black fedora, black lace skirt and a grey sweater from Tralala. It turns out the grey shirt had a mini-skirt attached, um, go me for not bothering to read the description haha!

Tralala shopping bag and summer catalog

They sent a really nice shopping bag and summer catalog with the order, which is something I just love about Japanese clothing companies. The bag is pearlized and a medium pink, it's made of a thin fabric type material so it probably could be used several times. And the catalog is printed on really thick glossy paper, eee so many cute photos!

Tralala fedora

Me wearing the fedora. My eye is creepily large looking o.o

The fedora was way nicer than I expected, I mean I only paid 1050 yen, but the original price was 4000 yen so it makes sense. The seams are finished really nicely and the sequined band is so cute. It fits my small head quite well (yes, I have a bit of a small head haha)

Over-exposed but at least you can see the details

The black lace skirt was just as expected, really cute! The lace is good quality, and the entire skirt is stretchy, and most importantly - it fits! To get it on, I have to expand it to nearly the max, but that's no big deal. It looked like something between a mini-skirt and knee skirt on the website model, but it's a mini-skirt on me for sure! haha

And the onepiece was supposed to be a loose kind of look, based on the website photo. But of course on me, it's not loose in any manner haha! I think I need those lace shorts to wear under it for sure, and check out the length of the sleeves on my arms! A good 3 inches up from my wrists. Heheh, I'm still gonna wear it!

Maybe it's meant for smaller girls? XD But it's on me, so it fits imo

  1. The fake eyelashes look really good on you! I wore fake eyelashes for the first time the other day, and it took me two tries to get them on right as well. =) Very cute!!

  5. Hi. This is Sakie Gantz, the wife of Thomas Gantz. It is great to see an American woman like yourself so interested in Japan and its culture, fashion, etc.

I am enjoying reading your blog posts, as is my husband, who introduced me to your interesting blog. I hope you enjoy your trip here in Japan this month and that we can meet to have dinner or lunch or something while you are here.

Nice outfits, and I also like the eyelashes. ^^

  6. The top and skirt combo is great! Nice surprise for you! I have the same problem with tops in Japan. I think you could roll up the sleeves a little, add some chunky bangles and put a black waist coat over the top. It would be really cute!

  15. I rarely accessorise, especially pierce, since I don't feel comfortable wearing any, so don't feel bad about forgetting them XD

Aaah, the wrist problem! That happens to me too! I have a couple of jumpers from Listen Flavor and they're too short too!

The Service in Japan is something I only dream of here in Germany, where almost everyone is unfriendly and stern :-) Love being there and being treated like a real important client :-)))

Your coordinates are getting more beutiful everytime you post something new! I wish I was that fashionable... XDD

  20. I really like that outfit on you!!! You inspire me so! its so nice to see you blossom over the years into a deinite style. I have been waiting to try the same coordinate at home, I think I'll wear it this weekend. It's just been so cold here in Chicago recently! when will spring come!

I believe we are about the same height too, so that gives me an idea of how things might fit on me sleeve wise! Thanks for the update...:D

  22. Lovely! I like the shirt best, nothing like a boy-style shirt to make a cute dress look edgy.
